Original: (in case you can't tell which is the original and which is my drawing!)
I'm enjoying drawing faces. I think a lot of the skill is finding a decent picture to copy. I've been looking on Flickr for these and this is one that I am drawing at the moment. I chose it because it is clear, enough in the shade so that I know where to put the shadow and I like the girl's face. It's an interesting picture.
But... I seem to be missing something here...
Again, I am quite pleased with my drawing here, because I can see a big improvement from my earlier drawings. But when you look at the drawing next to the original my drawing looks a bit rubbish again.
I guess it's ok that it doesn't look exactly like the photo, but I'd still like it to look a bit more realistic.
